5. Program of discipline

Description of academic discipline, its goals, subject of study and learning outcomes

The purpose of teaching the discipline is: to acquire skills of low-level programming of computer graphics elements, to create correct geometric and realistic images on the computer screen. To acquaint students with the principles of building modern graphic systems, mastering the algorithmic foundations of two- and three-dimensional graphics, to acquire skills of creating graphic images.

Contents of the academic discipline

Lectures (titles/topics)

Topic 1. General guidelines for executing the drawings. The objectives of the topic "Engineering Graphics". Basic requirements for executing the drawings formats, scales, lines, drawing fonts, graphical notation materials in sections, dimentioning.
Topic 2. Image on technical drawings. Design of objects. The main planes of projections. Views, sections cuts.
Topic 3. Building plan execution. Modular coordination of dimensions in construction. General rules of construction drawings graphic design. Implementation of buildings plans. Stair drawing. Conventional graphic plans of building structures and their elements.
Topic 4. Computer graphics types. What is computer graphics? Raster and vector graphics. Raster graphics. Vector graphics. Fractal graphics. 3D graphics. What is computer graphics used for? Who invented computer graphics? Basic classes of computer graphics.
Topic 5. Colour models. RGB, CMYK, Index mode, Grayscale mode, Bitmap mode, HSB. File Formats..
Topic 6. 3D Graphics. What is 3D graphics. Methods of 3D modeling (parametric, polygonal, spline and NURBS modeling). Plugins. Materials. Light. Visualization.

1 AutoCAD system capabilities and program interface. Organization of work. Create and manage drawing files. Coordinate systems. Select objects. Object snaps and drawing modes. Graphic primitives of the AutoCAD. Editing tools.
2 Working with layers. Properties of layers. Text creation and text styles. Dimensioning in AutoCAD.
3 Execution and verification of individual graphic tasks GT-1 in AutaCAD
4 Execution and verification of individual graphic tasks GT-2 in AutaCAD
5 Construction of coordinate axes, walls, doors and windows and stairs in AutaCAD Architecture.
6 Construction of a 3-dimensional model of a 1-storey building
Construction of plans, sections and facades of the created model of the building.
7 Execution and verification of individual graphic tasks GT-3 in AutaCAD Architecture
8 CorelDRAW interface and capabilities. Working with documents. Toolbar. Working with objects in CorelDRAW. Object editing tools. Working with text, working with layers. The basis of working with effects. Finishing for printing. Approval of individual graphic tasks GT-4.

10 Photoshop graphics editor interface. Image processing. Image layers. Color models and modes.
11 Selection of areas. Transformation of the selected area. Create color. Fill areas. Drawing and deleting tools. Tone image correction. Color correction.
