Course goals and learning objectives
The main goal of the study of the discipline: to master the basic provisions of the theory of electric apparatus in relation to the apparatus of high and low voltage, the features of the work of apparatus in normal and emergency modes, purpose, the principle of operation, structure, modes of operation of the apparatus and their individual parts, performance and the method of their determination, the method of calculation, the selection, and verification of electric apparatus and current-carrying parts.

Lectures Theme 1. History of relay.
Theme 2. Basic Components of an Electromagnetic Relay
Theme 3. Magnetic Systems of Relays.
Theme 4. Contact Systems.
Theme 5. Reed Switches and Reed Relays.
Theme 6. Time Relays.
Theme 7.Protective current and voltage relays.
Laboratory classes Investigation of electromagnetic relays.
Investigation of contactors.
Protective current and voltage relays.
Research fuses and circuit breakers.
Electromagnetic Time Relays.
Assessment criteria
Control in the form of individual and face-to-face interviews. Written control in the form of independent written works. Current testing in the Atutor system
