Course goals and learning objectives
Discipline "High-Voltage Engineering Equipment" is part of the fundamental cycle and professionally oriented cours. On the base of the acquired knowledge with the main theoretical positions electro physical processes that occur in the insulating constructions under the action of high voltages, methods of regulation of electric fields, protection of electrical installations from the effects of lightning and internal overvoltages a bachelor (later engineer) will be able to perform professional activities in electric power companies as to the operation of high-voltage electrical power systems. 
Course description
Lectures Topic 1. Contents and objectives of the course "HVE". Regularities of electric fields
Topic 2. Calculation of the air power transmission line electric field
Topic 3. Regulation methods of the electrical isolation fields in electric installations
Topic 4. Electrical characteristics of the high-voltage electrical installations internal isolation
Topic 5. High-voltage test installations and measurements at high voltages
Topic 6. Electrophysical processes in gases
Topic 7. Corona discharge on the wires of the air lines
Topic 8. Discharges in external isolation during lightning and switching impulses
Topic 9. Atmospheric overvoltages and protection from them
Laboratory classes Laboratory work №1. "Research of air gaps electric strength at variable and constant voltages"
Laboratory work №2. " Research of air gaps impulse electrical strength"
Laboratory work №3. "Determination of the solid dielectric electrical strength"
