Course goals and learning objectives
Objective: acquaint students with the theory of optical equipment of lighting devices, mastering the skills of light engineering and engineering calculations of various types optical devices of lighting devices.
Task: receiving by students theoretical knowledge, basic provisions and concepts in calculating light devices, acquiring practical skills in calculating the lighting characteristics and structural parameters of light devices.

Lectures Theme 1. General information about lighting devices.
Theme 2. Main elements of lighting devices.
Theme 3. Types of light redistribution devices.
Theme 4. Main characteristics of lighting devices.
Theme 5. Lighting engineering calculation methods of lighting devices.
Theme 6. The form and size of elementary reflections.
Theme 7. Luminous flux rays of elementary reflections.
Theme 8. Fill factor of the surface of optical devices by light part.
Theme 9. Spotlights with mirror reflector.
Theme 10. Aberration of a paraboloid reflector.
Theme 11. Formation of paraboloid reflector light beam.
Theme 12. Spotlight parabolo-cylindrical (spotlight flooding light).
Theme 13. Luminaires with mirror reflector.
Theme 14. Lenses lighting devices.
Theme 15. Cylindrical Fresnel lens.

Assessment criteria
Current control consists of assessment of theoretical knowledge - two modules (25 points maximum each) and performance and defense of laboratory work (25 points maximum).
Examination control is determined by the answers to theoretical questions and is estimated at 25 points maximum.
